It’s Thanksgiving weekend and the kids are starting to get bored. You feel like you’re running out of things to keep them occupied, and you want to get them away from all their electronic toys.

Have no fear, because I have a bunch of things that everyone can do, when you feel like you’re running out of ideas.

5) Movies

Some of the flicks that you can check out are "Puss In Boots", "Happy Feet 2" and "The Muppets". There’s a theater in the Albany area that's close to almost everyone.

4) Bowling

Bowling is a great way to spend a few hours, and even get a little bit of exercise, too. There’s probably a bowling alley near you.

3) Shopping

Pick a mall. Colonie Center, Crossgates or Clifton Park Center, just to name a few. There are plenty of places to walk around and plenty of stores to find those Christmas gifts, even if you’re not doing your Christmas shopping. Warning, these may be for the brave and courageous only as the holiday season is just starting.

2) Go Out For Ice Cream

Just because it’s not summer doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy your favorite ice cream. You can go to Stewarts, Ben and Jerry’s, or Friendly’s.

1) Laser Tag

Laser tag is the ultimate good time. There will be a lot of running around because you’ll be trying not to be tagged with a beam of light. Just remember to wear dark clothing because you’ll be in a room with a black light, which can make a light colored shirt glow. A few laser tag places in the Albany area are Zero Gravity, Outer Zone Laser Tag and Battlefield Live Laser Tag. Don’t think this is just for kids, either. Many adults love to play laser tag.

These are some of my ideas for things to do with the kids. You can always play some board or card games at home, too.

Do you have any suggestions?
