Capital Region Movie Theaters are Offering $1 Tickets This Summer

I love the movies. I'm a proud member of Regal Unlimited, which allows you to see as many movies as you want for free (counting for the $30 monthly charge, of course).

It's led me to go to the movies at least once a week, which I'd be doing anyways if tickets weren't so ridiculously expensive. Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for the movies?

$1 Movie Tickets

It seems one theater chain agrees, and they've decided to make family movies easy to see again. Over the summer, Scene One Entertainment will offer $1 movie tickets for select movies and showtimes.

The deal will be available at Movieland 6 in Schenectady and Wilton Mall Cinemas in Wilton, and will cover G and PG rated films for the whole family. Both adult and children's tickets will be $1 each for any showing under the deal.

What Movies Will be Showing?

The deal will take place every Wednesday at 11 a.m. from June 17 through August 19. The films being shown are:

June 17 — “The Secret Life of Pets”
June 24 — “Shrek”
July 1 — “The Bad Guys 2”
July 8 — “How to Train Your Dragon”
July 15 — “Dog Man”
July 22 — “Sing”
July 29 — “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie”
August 5 — “Trolls”
August 12 — “The Wild Robot”
August 19 — “Minions: The Rise of Gru”

While these aren't films currently showing in theaters worldwide (you'll have to pay full price to see Toy Story 5 this summer, unfortunately), this is a great way for parents and kids to get out of the heat and enjoy some classics for the whole family.
