Last Licks! There’s Still Time to See Upstate NY’s Ginormous Snow Dogs
Hot Dogs!
We don't know how long these doggies are going to last with today's warm-up, but we're told they're still hanging on in Saratoga Springs!
Treesa Browning told us that she's been building giant snow sculptures on the front lawn of her Saratoga home for years - ever since her kids were really little. They're all grown now, but the tradition is holding strong - so are the paw-some snow dogs, still hanging out, protecting her front lawn.
The weather has gotten a bit warmer over the last few days - and with a nearly 70-degree day expected for Friday, who knows how long Browning's snow dogs will last.
The sculptures, which bear the resemblance of her two dogs - Smokey and Bandit - were built over the weekend, handpainted by Browning.
If dog is a man's best friend, then warmer temps might be a snow dog's worst nightmare, but Browing is undeterred.
"They are still pretty good size," she explains, but, "I have had to put new ears on them each day."
It's a labor of love, but she's all about that pug life, and the neighbors love looking at them too.
"I kind of do it for a winter pick-me-up (for) the neighborhood, I usually get quite a bit of (car) honks and waves if I am outside...The kids really like them but so do the grown-ups."
Browning tells us that she's 5' 6'', so this should give you a little perspective in terms of how big her snow pups are!
