Watervliet Police: Driver Nearly Triple Legal Limit After Crashing Into House
A Green Island man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he crashed into a parked vehicle, slammed into a Watervliet home, and then walked away from the scene.
Even more alarming is that local police say his blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit.

What Happened in Watervliet?
According to Watervliet Police, the crash happened Wednesday, October 7th, shortly after 4 p.m. near 4th Street and 3rd Avenue.
Investigators say 46-year-old Ryan Deveaux first struck a parked vehicle that was occupied before leaving the roadway and crashing into the side of a home.
A witness called 911 after reportedly seeing the driver walking away. Officers located Deveaux a short distance from the crash and arrested him after investigating.

Nearly Three Times the Legal Limit
Police say a chemical test revealed Deveaux had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.23%, compared to New York's legal limit of 0.08%.
Authorities also say Deveaux had a previous DWI conviction within the past decade.
He now faces three felony charges related to driving while intoxicated, along with additional traffic violations, including leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
