Huge Latham Sporting Goods Store Temporarily Closed! [PICS]

If you shop in the Latham area, you know that there are a ton of stores for every need. Whether it's PetSmart, Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot, or grocery stores, this area is a shopping hub. This is why I was completely caught off guard when I noticed the huge sports store that I usually shop at was temporarily closed!

Why is Dick's Sporting Goods in Latham Closed?

This is where we get all of Ryan's baseball, soccer, and basketball gear. A lot of times we will just go there on a whim. Well when I went recently, I was shocked to see it all blocked off with an enormous sign under Dick's Sporting Goods logo on the building.

Apparently, many other customers were shocked too. When I was there, in a span of fifteen minutes, about ten cars pulled up and did the same thing I did. They looked at the signs on the door in disbelief.

And it isn't just Dick's Sporting Goods store. If you have been to this location, you know that it is attached to the Field & Stream store. They are also closed. But there is no sign on top of the building. It appears that Dick's Sporting Goods will be taking over that building as well. The Field & Stream sign is completely removed.

The signs on the doors of both buildings refer you to the other Dick's Sporting Goods locations in the Capital Region. There is no mention of Field & Stream.

How Long Will Renovations Take?

Unfortunately, there is no timeframe given on when this location will reopen. Take it from this sports mom, I hope they don't take too long, because it never fails, my kid always needs something related to some sport!
