Help! Dog Missing After Car Accident in Rensselaer County [PIC]

Can you help a family in Rensselaer County located their furry friend that ran away after a car accident? The person walking the dog was killed in the accident and the dog ran off.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Monday night around 9 pm. According to the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred in the area of Blue Factory Road and Route 2 in the town of Brunswick.

Rensselaer County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene of the accident, they were informed that the pedestrian had died from injuries suffered in the crash. The driver of the vehicle went off of the road and fire crews worked to free the driver who was uninjured.

The deputies were told that the dog had run off after the accident and it isn't clear in which direction. The name of the victim has not been released but the dog's name is "Dixie".
