There's basketball, and then there's the Harlem Globetrotters. While they may play the same sport as professionals in the NBA, it's a wildly different game altogether.

After 100 years of entertaining audiences worldwide, the team is embarking on a massive tour, and Upstate New York is invited to be a part of the celebration.

Who are the Globetrotters?

While they ruled the world in the 1970s and 80s, the Globetrotters are not as much of a household name anymore, and that's a shame. Founded in 1926, the team focuses on being an entertainment product first, and a sporting event second.

Think of The Savannah Bananas and their trademarked "Banana Ball". That idea is directly based on the Globetrotters antics, breaking the rules of the game to put together a show unlike anything you've ever seen. From ladder dunks to full-court shots, they make the plays NBA players could only dream of.

How to See Them in Upstate New York

The Globetrotters have three shows planned in Upstate New York as a part of this tour. It starts on February 6th in Buffalo, then on February 7th in Rochester, ending it's micro-tour of the state in Albany on February 8th.

The Globetrotters will face off against their longtime rivals, The Washington Generals, which never ceases to amaze crowds both young and old.

The game will be held at MVP Arena at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $48.45 on Ticketmaster. For more information on starting lineups, schedules, and more, check out the Globetrotters website.

LOOK! Before Sold-Abandoned Orange County Chopper HQs in Newburgh-TLC's 'American Chopper'

In 2003, a father-son business reality show hit the Discovery Channel. It was called American Chopper, and it followed the custom motorcycle-building business of the Teutul family out of Newburgh, NY. Paul Sr. owned the shop, with sons Paul Jr. and Mikey working in the business. There was a slew of cast and characters. The center of the show wasn't just the amazing custom motorcycles built for celebrities and others; it was the volatile relationship between Sr. and Jr. The show ran for 12 seasons before the two could no longer get along. It ended up in lawsuits, and the two not talking for ten-plus years. In the past few years, the business moved to Florida. This left the 61,000-square-foot headquarters for sale and abandoned. Take a look at what remained of Orange County Choppers.
