One Albany area city will is going to get a new system that will let it’s residents know about emergency alerts. In a story that I saw in the Times Union, Cohoes will be working with a Delmar based company to set up a system called BroadcastBlast. The city has signed a $10,000 deal to set for the new system.

Besides notifying people about emergency alerts, there will be messages sent out about road closures, snow emergencies and more. Cohoes residents will be able to register for the BroadcastBlast online at either alertregistration.com or through the city of Cohoes website.
