It’s been more than a week, and police are still searching for Anthony Bechand, the Cohoes man wanted for the murder of Amanda Rodriguez.

On Sunday morning, September 14th, 41-year-old Amanda Rodriguez was found dead inside her Earl Lynn Court home in Cohoes. An autopsy later confirmed she had been stabbed to death. Police say 53-year-old Anthony “Tony” Bechand is wanted in connection with her killing.

Bechand’s 2024 Chevy Silverado turned up abandoned on County Route 60 in the town of Brighton, just miles from the Canadian border. Since then, there hasn’t been a single confirmed sighting of him.

State Police, U.S. Marshals, and several local law enforcement agencies are out in full force, but so far, Bechand has managed to stay hidden. Authorities believe he’s still in Franklin County and warn he may be armed and dangerous.

The U.S. Marshals are now putting up a $5,000 reward for information that helps track him down. Bechand is about 5’11”, 180 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. No one knows what he’s wearing.

Police are asking people in the area to be on alert. If you have camps, trail cameras, or security cameras, check them. Even something small could be a lead. And if you think you see him, don’t approach him; he could be armed and dangerous.
