A couple from Central Florida faces up to 35-years in prison after the death of the woman’s daughter.  The jury found 21-year old Jaren Hare and her live-in boyfriend 34-year old Charles Darnell guilty of manslaughter, third-degree murder and child neglect on Thursday.  The two initially were offered plea agreements that would have guaranteed 10-years behind bars, but they both rejected the offer.

2-year old Shianna Hare was killed in her crib by a pet Burmese python.  The snake wrapped itself around her head back on July 1, 2009, strangling and suffocating the toddler.  Testimony revealed the snake had not been fed for a month before the incident.

Two questions:  First, "who has a pet snake roaming their home with a child living in the home as well?"   Second, "how did the snake slither its way into the crib?  Did it co-inhabit the same bedroom as Shianna?"  My god -- this poor little girl must have been so scared and traumatized in her last few minutes of life.  I'm glad her mother and Darnell did not except the plea deals because hopefully they will see a lot more time in prison than 10-years.

Check out the size of the Burmese python?  Who in their right mind would want this critter in their home.  I don't even like a moth in my apartment!
