Patrick Casey of Clifton Park is the latest soldier from the Albany area to lose his life. Sadly, he survived Afghanistan and lost his life at a McDonalds in Washington D.C.

Casey, 33, was credited for saving fellow soldiers in Afghanistan from striker vehicles that were hit by IEDs.  Returning to the United States last year, the former Shenedehowa High School and RPI student was looking forward to pursuing a degree in international affairs.

According to YNN, when Casey tried to break up a fight at a McDonalds in Washington D.C., he fell to the ground and hit his head.  The veteran died at a Washington D.C. hospital shortly after.
