Civilians Give Up Seats on Flight for Marines
This story made me tear up with pride, and hope for America!
Monday, 13 Marines were returning from Afghanistan on a flight from Chicago to San Diego. American Airlines noticed that they had 6 empty first class seats, so they upgraded half of the Marines. Then, seven first-class passengers opted to give up THEIR seats too, so all 13 soldiers could sit together.
In an interview, one of the Marines said it's, quote, "amazing when we are 10 years [into] a war, and there is still that kind of community, [and] that level of support."
We talk a lot about what's "wrong" with the world, and it's wonderful to finally see a story that makes you realize that people are still awesome, and kind, and America is the best country in the world!
