A white Christmas is on the way for Upstate New York!

With the fresh snow we got on Saturday and the super cold temperatures we have been having the last few days, a white Christmas for the Capital Region and Upstate New York was pretty much a foregone conclusion.

For good measure, Old Man Winter is going to give us the gift of more fresh snow on Christmas Eve.

Upstate New York Forecast For Christmas Eve

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from this evening through midday Christmas Eve for areas in Central and Western New York. Anywhere from 2 to 5 inches of fresh snow is expected for these areas. News Channel 13 WNYT says the greater Albany area the Captial Region can expect up to an inch or two depending on location.

Snow is expected to start this evening and will last through midday tomorrow, making travel slick for the Christmas Eve morning commute.

Our fast start to Winter 2024 continues with more snow forecasted for the Captial Region and Upstate New York from Monday evening December 23rd into Christmas Eve day. The National Weather Service (NWS) says areas in Central New York can see anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of snow, while WNYT is calling for 1 - 2 inches in the greater Albany area.
