Eagles Esports Crush at State Tournament

The Bethlehem Central High School Eagles Esports program continues to prove it belongs among New York’s best after a standout performance at the Empire State Scholastic Esports Federation (ESSEF) State Championships.

The tournament was held on December 13th at Syracuse University’s state-of-the-art Esports Center, which brought together hundreds of the top high school players from across the state. The venue itself looks sick, with custom-designed gaming stations, massive video displays, and live-streaming technology built for competitive play.

Two Teams Bring Home Statewide Honors

Two Bethlehem teams advanced to the playoffs, and both brought home statewide honors, according to the press release.

The Eagles Esports Marvel Rivals team finished second in New York, while the Eagles Esports Rocket League squad earned a third-place finish.

The Marvel Rivals roster included Peyton Gray, John Stapleton, Will Jensen, Max Yaeger, Phoenix Andrews, Luca Ruggiero, Matthew Foster, Niccolo Genovese, and Eric Zheng. The Rocket League team featured Max Yaeger, Eric Zheng, Kai White, and John Stapleton, with several players competing across both teams.
