
One Dead, 3 Others Critical After Serious Crash in Albany County
Breaking News: Bad Accident in Albany County
Some breaking news to report on a Monday from the Capital Region, and our thoughts are with the victims of this horrific tragedy.
Albany Sheriff Craig Apple said multiple emergency vehicles and two helicopters responded to a deadly crash in the Westerlo area of the Capital Region, which is about 30 minutes southwest of Albany.
Carload of People Hit Tractor Trailer
Sheriff Apple warned area residents and any subsequent traffic heading to the area to expect a lot of emergency response vehicles and most likely some delays after a car carrying six passengers allegedly failed to stop and was struck by a tractor-trailer.
"Large Emergency Response - if you are in the Westerlo area, expect a high police and emergency medical service presence. A vehicle traveling with six passengers failed to stop and was struck by a tractor trailer. At least 3 individuals are critical at this time. 2 helicopters are en route and several of our sheriff ambulances and adjoining areas are responding" - Albany Sheriff Craig Apple
According to News 10 ABC, the crash was reported on County Route 401 just after 10:45 a.m.
One Dead, 3 Others Critical
News 10 ABC is reporting that a vehicle "with six occupants, including two children, allegedly failed to stop near the intersection with County Route 404, leading to a collision with an oncoming northbound tractor-trailer."
Albany Sheriff Craig Apple confirmed that one of the car’s occupants was killed in the crash, and three others, including one child, are in critical condition.

According to a report from CBS Albany, here is footage of one of the helicopters landing at Albany Medical Center just before noon today.
