As a New York fan I have seen my share of stupid moves. I remember Kevin Brown and A.J. Burnett throwing temper tantrums and hitting things. Which of course left them injured and the Yankees without high profile pitchers they paid tons of money to. So I guess it shouldn't shock me that a member of one of my other New York teams did the same stupid, selfish and down right childish act of fighting a object after a tough night.

I am shocked however that it was Amare Stoudemire. Amare has been the picture of professionalism since signing with the New York Knicks. Chants of MVP filled Madison Square Garden his first season and when the team traded for Carmelo Anthony he welcomed his fellow All Star with open arms. Even though that move has clearly left Amare trying to find his place on the team. So after another tough playoff loss to the Heat last night Stoudemire showed the most intensity and passion he showed all night by punching the glass case of a fire extinguisher in the tunnel leaving the court.

Stoudemire's temper tantrum left him with stitches to his hand, arm in a sling and most likely leaves the Knicks without yet another key player. The Knicks haven't won a playoff game since 2001 and it looks unlikely they'll get one this season.
