Kevin Huerter Of The Atlanta Hawks Joined Big Board Sports Today
I certainly like the Atlanta Hawks' chances to beat the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night. The Hawks can really score and shoot it at a high percentage behind Huerter and Trae Young. Nothing is better than localizing a national story. I always love seeing former Shen and Maryland standout Kevin Huerter succeed. He comes from an awesome family as his parents and siblings are great people. Kevin gave me radio and TV time this week as he is always a great interview. He is always humble and never forgets where he came from. Here is my quick take on this from the Times Union:
Kevin Huerter has pieced together a very consistent regular season in Atlanta, and the Hawks could be a dangerous playoff team because of the way they can shoot it, and defend at a high level. Huerter is averaging 12 points per game, shooting 39 percent from three point range, and 45 percent from the floor. In his last 10 games the former Shen and Maryland standout is averaging 15 points per game. Atlanta has been very good at home this season, and you have to like their chances of beating Charlotte on Wednesday night in the Play-in game.
MJ and I had an awesome interview with Kevin right at the beginning of Big Board Sports this morning. He talked about planning for this week's playoff matchup on Wednesday when they host Charlotte. Below is our full conversation with him.
I've got the Hawks advancing in this play-in tournament and winning tomorrow night. They are red hot entering the playoffs and I don't think the Hornets can score and stay with them all game long. I love the NBA playoffs and am wishing Kevin Huerter and the Hawks nothing but the best.
