A teacher at the Albany Preparatory Charter School has been suspended after being accused of inappropriately touching a student. Police have not released the 40-year old teacher’s name, but he is a male teacher.  He is accused of grabbing the rear end of a 14-year old girl as she passed him in the hallway.  Allegedly, the teacher smiled at the student after the incident, but did not exchange words.

According to the school's Board president, Brian Backstorm, the teacher is on paid administrative leave while the accusation is being investigated.   The teacher is accused of forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.  The school has students are in grades fifth through eighth.  The school is located at 75 Park Avenue.
