It's always good to reinforce good character traits with kids.  This little appearance was no exception. It means a lot that they keep having me back at Griswold Heights Community Center in Troy.  Want to hear their song?  I knew you would!

First off, I'd like to thank Margaret Mulligan and Chris Shamott (the summer teachers there) and Charlene Okanski (summer intern) along with Dr. Phil Fusco from the Academy For Character Education at the Sage Colleges for having me back for the third year in a row.

And of course I want to thank the group of creative kids!  They were a multi-age group which sometimes can be a challenge, but they all followed along really well and created this song in less than an hour!

Much of this groundwork was already fleshed out by the time I walked in.  They took the word "character" and spelled it out finding words that start with the same letter (Have you ever sung "H-A-R-R-I-G-A-N"?  Same idea!)  Getting it to rhyme was a challenge, but we did it!

Here's the final creation:

Pretty catchy, huh?  If you'd like to know more about the Academy For Character Education, you can click on their website.
