It was announced that Red Robin may be closing its seventy locations. Although we don't know when the closures will happen, my family is a huge fan of the chain and will miss it.

There are fourteen Red Robin restaurants in New York State including three here in the Capital Region. We love both the Clifton Park and Latham Red Robin. My son, Ryan loves their burgers but he really thinks it's awesome they offer bottomless fries. Whenever we go, he asks the server right away for a basket of fries and says, "Keep 'em coming."

Here Are The Top 5 Items We Will Miss When Red Robin Closes

Towering Onion Rings- Who doesn't like an onion ring tower? It looks cool and it's delicious!

Red's Tavern Double- This is Red Robin's signature burger and part of the value menu items. Plus it's yummy.

Oreo Cookie Milkshake- Red Robin has some amazing gourmet milkshakes. This one is our favorite although sometimes my son would get a root beer float.

Avo-Cabb-O Salad- This is my favorite item on Red Robin's menu. I know it isn't one of their well-known burgers but this is always fresh and I love it.

The Wedgie- I love that at Red Robin you can swap out the bun for a lettuce 'bun'. This burger is loaded with smoked bacon, homemade guac, and tomato.

Red Robin is considering closing its underperforming gourmet burger restaurants to help the chain repay debt. According to USA Today, in 2024 Red Robin chose not to renew a lease at one of their restaurants and ultimately closed it. They are evaluating the other locations that also have expiring leases to continue the closing trend.

Although the plan is to close these Red Robins, the president and CEO, G.J. Hart said it would happen over the next five years to coordinate with their leases expiring. This year, they expect to close ten to fifteen restaurants.
