I keep seeing articles about something very big coming to Saratoga County, so I wanted to do a little digging - for my benefit, but hopefully for yours too.

I checked out the Albany Business Review to see if they had anything on it, and lo and behold, they did.

From what I gather, according to the article, this thing is going to be absolutely amazing.  There will be 4 different pools, and they're definitely going to be used to the max.  You might even see an Olympic hopeful working out!

ATHENS, GREECE - JUNE 01: Swimmers enjoy one of the outside swimming pools which form part of the Olympic Aquatic Centre , at the Athens Olympic Sports Complex, is seen on June 1, 2011 in Athens, Greece. Although many of the facilities on the site are still in use since the 2004 Athens Olympic Games debate still continues to the long term future use of many of the Olympic venues some of which have fallen into disrepair and neglect. The Greek government is trying to implement a further round of severe austerity measures after EU finance officials have argued that country, which is already struggling to meet the terms of an international euro110 billion bailout - could require even more help. This Adirondack Aquatic Center will be right off of Exit 12, which will be super convenient.

Now of course there are pools around the area, but not 50 meter long ones.  Most of them are more like 25 yards, so this would be more Olympic quality.  You will have 22 swimming  lanes to choose from actually.

Clubs can use it, teams and individuals too, and I guess the whole region will have access to it.

The cost to use it?  That wasn't mentioned.  I can't imagine it would be free, but that remains to be seen.

Nonetheless, this is great for the area, don't you think?  Maybe I'll see you at the pool!
