What To Do and Where To Go This Memorial Day Weekend
This weekend is the unofficial kick off to summer and I know we are all looking forward to it! How can we not be?! Lets just think back to a couple of months ago when we could barely get down the Northway because of piles of snow; or how about the last couple of months of ridiculous rain (last Thursday, anybody?!)
Now, it's time to embrace the beautiful sunshine and temperatures that are coming our way!
This weekend you'll have a chance to engage in plenty of summer-like fun activities as well as different events supporting and honoring Memorial Day. Here is a brief overview of some stuff going on this upcoming weekend - plan accordingly!
In Lake George a family camp hosted by the YMCA Camp Chingacook will take place starting on Friday. It includes lots of family fun like rock climbing, hiking, canoeing and more. The Memorial Day parade in Lake George will be the following day kicking off at 11:30am. There's also a Rock the Boat Fireworks Cruise for adults that requires a $50 ticket but sounds amazing - find out more here.
In Albany, the Memorial Day parade will be held on Monday starting at 9am. But why not start the weekend with a beautiful stroll through Albany's Washington Park? If you want to throw it back to the 90s with a little hip-hop, why not check out Ma$e at the Palace Theatre for the Reunion Tour?
Take in a farmers market at Empire State Plaza, Troy or Cohoes! Get some shopping in with the Sidewalk Sale in downtown Saratoga Springs!
Even better - open the pool, get out the sprinklers, pour a pitcher of iced tea and take it all in this weekend!
