Trump to Appear in Central New York on Friday

After reports surfaced last week that Trump was considering an Upstate New York campaign stop, the visit has now been confirmed.

Trump will headline a Midterm Rally in Syracuse on Friday, October 9th.

The exact location remains a mystery for now, but the official Republican National Committee event page lists the rally as taking place in Syracuse.

The venue is currently listed as “To Be Announced.” Doors are scheduled to open at 3 PM, the program will begin at 5:30 PM, and Trump will speak at 7 PM.

Why is Trump Going to Syracuse?

Trump is expected to appear in Syracuse as part of his push for Republicans ahead of the midterm elections. Recent reporting has also connected the visit to Republican gubernatorial candidate and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who is challenging Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul.

For anyone interested in attending, ticket registration is already open, and attendees can request up to four tickets per signup; registration requires phone verification.

The Syracuse appearance is part of a stretch of Trump campaign events around the country.

Where Is the Event?

One major detail is still missing: Where exactly will the rally be held?

With thousands potentially heading into Syracuse Friday afternoon, the venue announcement could also significantly affect traffic and travel around the city, and at the time we published this article, that hasn't been disclosed.

We’ll update the story when the location is announced.

Democratic Stops in Upstate NY Recently

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently visited Buffalo, Ithaca and Syracuse as part of an effort to increase Democratic voter turnout.

She appeared in Syracuse on September 28 to discuss "Project Reactivation," an initiative that was created to reach inactive registered Democratic voters.

Trump is no stranger to Central New York. During his first presidential campaign, he held a rally at the Oncenter in Syracuse in April 2016.

With Election Day approaching, both parties appear to be paying more attention to Upstate New York, which is never a bad thing, regardless of which side you're on.
