2009- Vern Gosdin dies at age 74.  Known as "The Voice," he scores hits with 'Chiseled In Stone,' 'Set 'Em Up Joe,' and 'I Can Tell By The Way You Dance.'

2001- Brooks & Dunn begin a six-week run at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart with 'Ain't Nothing 'Bout You.'

1994- John Berry's wife, Robin, delivers their son two minutes before midnight. Several hours later, nurses find John sitting on the floor outside the room. Informed of his ongoing headaches, they run a CAT scan and find a cyst on his brain.  A few weeks after successful brain surgery, he finds himself at No. 1 with his first chart-topper 'Your Love Amazes Me.'

1973- Charlie Rich rides to No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart with 'Behind Closed Doors.'
