UAlbany's fall sports season is the latest to get affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

According to a CBS 6 report, fall sports at UAlbany have been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The university made the decision with the America East Conference and the Colonial Athletic Association in the interest of keeping student-athlete's safe.

This is certainly not a surprise at this point as there is so much uncertainty still swirling around the pandemic as far as safety. From a safety standpoint, the university is already facing the challenge of how to continue the educational side of things. Adding in sports could only complicate that situation.  The CBS 6 story quotes UAlbany Director of Athletics Mark Benson who said postponing fall sports will allow "...full attention on planning for a safe and healthy return to campus life" and that fall sports would be played in the spring.
