Tyson, Shutterfly, Directv, Russell Stover, Hillshire Farm – What’s In Common?
I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings here, but if you like chicken, satellite tv, candy and picture posting websites, this might not make your day
According to the HuffingtonPost.com, here's the deal. These brands, among many others will not EXIST in 2015, according to the article. They are not alone. Time Warner Cable is leaving (in name only). Blackberry has had major troubles, we all know that.
Wow! What the hell is happening out there? These are some big names.
I guess we should use the disclaimer here that some will re-emerge as something else - like Time Warner Cable, for example will become ComCast. Even as I'm writing this, I got an alert on my cellphone that RJ Reynolds is buying Lorrilard, according to Dealbook.com I don't know what Lorrilard is, but -here we go again!
And just yesterday I was driving down Balltown Road in Niskayuna and passed by the Mohawk Commons. Low and behold -Barnes and Noble is no longer there! Will they become something else?
Do brands even mean anything to you anymore? What's YOUR favorite?
