Top Country Songs of 2010

The number one Billboard song of the year did not hit number one!  Lee Brice made history with the longest charting song in Country Music history in September of 2010.

The song "Love Like Crazy" took 55 weeks to reach it's peak position of Number 3.  If you look at the charts you notice that most top ten songs take an average of about 15 weeks to get there, if the song is going to become a hit.  The last time a song dominated the charts that long was in 1948 with Eddy Arnold's "Bouquet of Roses."  Eddy's classic spent 54 active weeks on the Billboard Country charts.

According to Billboard, which ranks songs by radio airplay audience impressions as measured by Nielsen BDS, the song peaked at number 3.  However, because of it's slow climb up the charts, the song ranks as the most played song of the year.  A good example of how a turtle of a tune beat the superstar rabbits with the old saying "slow and steady wins the race!"
