Can't keep your dog from begging for treats or obsessing over 'people' food?  Well the truth is, your dog doesn't need to change - you do.  Learn some invaluable tips and tricks in the latest edition of GNA Pet Professors.

When my girlfriend Samantha and I decided to live together over two years ago, she brought two cute, lovable little doggies into my world. One of the dogs, a 14-year-old Australian Silky named 'Biggie' is completely treat-obsessed and constantly begs for 'people food'. We were at the point where we truly believed that there was no way we could ever change Biggie's behavior.

You hear the saying all the time that you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but the reality is that it's much harder to 'train' humans, than it is pets.  I learned a few tricks and tips from Rita Peters and the Pet Professors at the VCA Animal Hospital and afterward Samantha and I vowed to implement these new tools. It's been a little over a week and we're already seeing some incredible growth and change in our dog's behavior.

Every month, we will be talking with the experts at VCA Animal Hospitals to give you the information you need to properly care for and interact with your furry friends.

GNA's The Pet Professors is brought to you by VCA Animal Health Center in conjunction with VA Shaker Animal Hospital.
