It's time to announce the competing schools for our 2nd Annual High School Hunger Games competition!

These schools feel like they have what it takes to collect thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items in order to win an amazing prize and to be named the champions!

Last year Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons won with 38.67 pounds of food per student enrolled! They collected almost half of our 20,000 total pounds collected! And they are a school of less than 200 students! Small and mighty!

But who will win this year? Which school will step up and make sure that no family goes hungry in the 518?

Here are this year's competing schools:

Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons - Back to defend their title!

Duanesburg High School - Second place last year, so they really want it bad!

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake - Another returning school, have they honed their strategy?  I'll bet!

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk - Back again this year and the first school to sign up!  They're ready!

Shenendehowa High School - Maybe they're big... but do they have what it takes to be the champion?

Cohoes High School - Also back for another round! Can they do it this year?

Ichabod Crane Central - New to the games! Are they ready to play?

Mohonasen High School - Another returning school! Eager to win this year and taste sweet victory!

Schenectady High School - Welcome Schenectady! Bring it!

So, who's it gonna be? Which school will emerge victorious? Only time will tell!

If you are propositioned by anyone from these schools about giving, do your part! One in five children in the Capital Region goes to school hungry! Along with Fidelis Care, WGNA and these high school kids want to end this problem!

Feel free to contact any of these schools near you to find out how you can help.

Good luck to all of the schools, and thank you for taking the first step!

Also a big thank you to Fidelis Care, providing quality, affordable health care to all Capital Region communities!

Just some of last year's collection!
