These are very tense times we live in, there's no doubt about it. With as much racial divide as there is a political divide in our country, things are being ramped up here locally as a 22-year-old man was shot last night in Troy. Residents shouted at police officers while they manned the scene, but even as specific details unfolded, residents of the neighborhood where Dahmeek Mcdonald was shot twice in the torso still want answers.

NewsChannel 13 was live on the scene last evening reporting that an altercation ensued between McDonald and Troy police, resulting in the 22-year-old being shot 2 times in the torso. Initial reports falsely claimed he was shot in the head and died (neither of which is true) and he is expected according to police to make a full recovery.

Police needed riot gear as they tended to the scene while angry residents looking for answers surrounded the area demanding answers and voicing their frustration.

Troy Police plan to hold an additional press conference Wednesday at 10am at City Hall. There is also a planned march from the scene of the shooting at City Hall at noon.
