small town songs

This is a Your Town Thursday Greatest Hit - a song for Troy, NY - originally recorded in 2011, but I've had requests to replay it, so here goes

Well, you win some, you lose some.  I had a rough morning, but at least I gave the East Greenbush song the old college try.

A very nice listener wrote in this morning when Bethany was butchering  local town names and made sure that we correctly referred to her beloved Blenheim, NY.  This in turn gave me an idea - why not also reward her with a song for her town?  So ...here we go!

Had alot of fun with this one, thanks to all of your help on Facebook and all of your calls on the air.  That always helps.  I hate trying to pull facts out of thin air to make a song.  Here's your song, guys!

I know it took awhile to get to this.  I wanted to write you a song long ago, but I thought you folks probably had a lot bigger things on your mind.  On the other hand, you need a little bit of fun in your lives, and I hope this helps provide it for at least 90 seconds (that's how long it is!)

I wanted to wait a little bit until things calmed down at least a little bit!  But it is now time for a song for this hard hit corner of the world in Montgomery County - Fort Plain.   I have 24 hours  to get this together (actually less by the time you read this) . A little teamwork here, folks...

Don't ask me how I ended up connecting Menands with Zac Brown.   I think it was playing one morning and when I heard "toes in the water , a## in the SAND", I stuck Menands in where SAND was -cuz it rhymed, see?  Again, don't ask...  Here's your song for Your Town Thursday

There has to be a town that I haven't written a song about yet.  There just HAS to be.  I might have to start writing about individual people soon!  In the meantime, give me a town, and I'll write you a song for this week's Your Town Thursday!

You've GOT to feel sorry for you Middleburghians!  To be flooded yet AGAIN from this last round of storms is just too much to bear.  I thought you guys deserve a morale boost, so I will attempt to help out by writing you a song for this week's "Your Town Thursday".  Information would be helpful, though!  Here's how to contribute (it's easy, don't worry)

It's going to be a very busy week around the radio ranch. I want to get writing  very early because we have to go to Hunter Mountain this week for the most exciting music festival this area has ever seen (got your tickets yet?) .

This is one big commercial for Colonie, New York.  Almost all of the information that I got for this song mentioned a business of one type or another, so I decided to give you all free plugs (much to the dismay of our hard working sales department - I'm sure I'll hear about this later - gulp!)   Anyway, on to the song
