I am a die-hard Jets fan but this season it has been fun to root for the Bills. It makes it easier because my son, Ryan, and Jenn are from Buffalo and a huge part of Bills Mafia. It is an understatement to say that our household was devastated at the overtime loss this weekend.

The Buffalo Bills haven't won a playoff game since 1995 and this Saturday at 4:30 when they take on the Houston Texans, it will be just the second time since the since the 90's that they're even playing in one. Yet Bills fans are as excited as ever about the thought of their team making some serious noise in these NFL playoffs.

Most baseball fans in attendance, and watching on TV, will remember last nights Yankee game for the heartbreaking way the season came to an end at the expense of the Red Sox. For many other fans, especially here in the Capital Region, we will remember the heartwarming way the game began: with classy, warm, touching tribute that honored the victims of the Schoharie tragedy.

The Albany Empire have had a dream season in their inaugural season as Arena Football returned to the Capital Region for the first time in nearly two decades.  After starting the year 0-2, the Empire used a stingy defense and a high octane offense to capture the league's best record and secure the #1 seed overall in the AFL.  The Empire (8-4) will play their first ever playoff game on the road vs.

When Shaker grad Tommy Kahnle was drafted by the Yankees in 2010 it was a dream come true for the local flamethrowing pitcher.  Last night, he was called upon to prevent a Bronx nightmare from happening when he entered the game in the 8th inning, the lead in jeopardy, and the Yankee season on the line.   Latham, New York stand up!!
