Brunswick residents are being warned about a possibly rabid fox after it attacked a dog.

According to a News 10 report, the Rensselaer County Health Department has alerted  residents about a possible rabid fox that was last spotted on Hoosick Road. They are asking residents who see with the fox to obviously stay away from it, and to alert police if they spot it. News 10 says the fox came into contact with a dog and four residents. All are being checked out for the disease.

So what should you be on the lookout for if you think you spot this fox? According to the CDC some of the classic signs are "...excessive salivation, abnormal behavior, aggression, and/or self-mutilation." News 10 says the fox in question is also injured. Basically, if you see a fox in daylight that is not startled by your presence, keep a safe distance and call the police to assist!
