SUNY’s Stony Brook & University At Buffalo Could Pull Off Upsets In 2016 March Madness Games

Two State University of New York colleges have made it to the the 2016 NCAA March Madness Tournament!

I love March Madness Basketball time.  It really is "madness."  The amount of games played in one day, trying to keep track of who won and who lost, how am I doing in my bracket - MADNESS!  But I love it.  And this year TWO of our very own SUNY colleges have made it to the big tournament! Would I rather be rooting for the Danes or even the Saints? Yes but still I feel a little bit of a "homer" when it comes to these two possible Cinderellas as well.

Stony Brook and Buffalo will each play this Thursday to open the tournament.  Stony Brook is ranked 13 in the East region and Buffalo is ranked 14th in the South Region.  These are going to be tough games, so I thought with the help of our ESPN.com tournament challenge information, we could talk this out together.

Stony Brook (13th) plays Kentucky (4th) - We all know Kentucky is a good team, some of you may even pick them to go all the way.  But, before you do, let me say this to you:  Jameel Warney!  This kid scored 43 points in the title game!  He is on fire and defense on this team is outstanding!  Is Kentucky ready for this?  This could be a good upset pick - I am going to make it!

Buffalo (14th) plays Miami (3rd) - Does anyone pick a 14 over a 3?  Last year 3 out of the 4 teams ranked 14th advanced!  Just throwing that out there!  Miami is a good team, but I think Buffalo has a good shot.  ESPN reminds us they almost beat West Virginia last year, and this year they come back as a better team peaking at just the right time.  How do you pick against that?

Both games are on Thursday March 17th.  Stony Brook plays at 9:40 PM on CBS and Buffalo plays at 6:50 PM on TBS!
