It wouldn't be March Madness without a Cinderella story and that is obviously the 15 seeded Saint Peter's Peacocks in this year's NCAA Tournament.  First they knock number two Kentucky, and then they beat seven seeded Murray State to advance to the Sweet 16.  Tonight they face three seeded Purdue in what will be a very tough matchup as Purdue is big and plays very fast.  Not to mention, they are in a very competitive conference in the BIG 10.  The Peacocks are looking to become the first ever 15 seed to make the Elite 8.  I unfortunately think that they will lose to Purdue tonight.  Here is my quick take on this from the Times Union:

I love the Saint Peter’s story, but it will end on Friday in the Sweet 16. I just don’t see how this Cinderella team gets past Purdue, not when you look at the size of the Boilermakers. 7’4 Center Zach Edey is just a very bad matchup for the Peacocks, who don’t have any answer for the Sophomore Center who averages 14 points and 8 rebounds per game. Basketball is all about matchups, and Saints Peter’s does not matchup well with Purdue. The only equalizer is the three point shot, but even then it would take an historic night from deep to pull off the upset.

MJ and I had a great conversation with ESPN College Basketball Analyst Dalen Cuff yesterday talking about March Madness and Saint Peter's.  We also had a nice conversation today about the Purdue Saint Peter's game that will tip just after 7 p.m. tonight.  Below are both of these discussions.

It has been an awesome season and run in this tourney by Saint Peter's.  They deserve all of the praise and recognition that they are receiving.  However, I have said it before and I will say it again, Siena beat them twice during the regular season.
