This is a first - to create a song with four different elementary classes in four different counties. The topic: bullying. We're on a mission  to end it, and I want to do my part by helping to create a "jingle" with kids from all over the Capital Region.

To start us off, I visited Mrs. Shuette's 4th grade classroom at Stillwater Elementary School in Saratoga County.

As you can see on the poster behind them, and as you are about to hear, these kids do "hoppin' good work."

So here was the challenge: to at least create the chorus and one verse of this group effort. To get things rolling, I started them off with a little melody that was rolling around in my head.  It certainly didn't take them long to come up with this catchy "hook:"

That will sure stick in people's heads, don't you think? Now here's a little bit of a verse that they came up with.

(Here is the version recorded off the air so you can hear what it sounded like this morning.)

This is a GREAT start to what should prove to be a really memorable jingle to promote October being  Anti-Bullying Month.  I would like to thank the Academy For Character Education at the Sage Colleges for their sponsorship of this program.  You can go to their website for more information.
