Get ready for a dinner that makes a difference. Next Wednesday, October 22nd, you can enjoy a great meal and help support local Special Olympics athletes.

Nineteen Texas Roadhouse restaurants across New York State, including Albany and Queensbury, are teaming up with local police departments for a fun and heartwarming event.

Special Olympics athletes and law enforcement officers will swap their usual uniforms for aprons and serve as “celebrity waiters.” Diners can tip them directly, and every dollar goes straight to Special Olympics New York.

This annual fundraiser supports programs that give athletes of all abilities the chance to train, compete, and build confidence through sports like basketball, bowling, and snowshoeing.

Here in the Capital Region, Special Olympics programs bring together hundreds of athletes and volunteers throughout the year for competitions and community events that celebrate inclusion, teamwork, and spirit.

The money raised helps cover uniforms, equipment, travel costs, and training facilities, so athletes can focus on what matters most, playing hard and having fun. It also supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a movement that connects police officers with the athletes they proudly champion.

So grab your family and head to Texas Roadhouse in Albany or Queensbury for dinner on Wednesday, October 22nd. You’ll leave with a full belly, a warm feeling, and the satisfaction of knowing you helped keep support local Special Olympic athletes.
