This time, it’s happening to some residents of Rotterdam. Someone calls you and claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service or a utility company. They tell the person that they’re trying to collect a debt from you. They demand a payment with a pre-paid debit card, or you will be arrested, or you will be cut off from the utility company’s service.

According to the story from WNYT, people should not fall for this and to contact the police. The phone number for the Rotterdam Police is 518-355-7331.
