Local Skater/Singer Featured on American Idol
A Schenectady man rolled into American Idol Sunday evening (literally) and even did laps around the judges during an unforgettable audition on the hit reality singing competition.
Keegan James, 21, from Schenectady, was featured on American Idol Sunday evening and while he earned some positive praise from Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, James was told to pump the breaks on his singing career.

On Sunday evening's show (seen here locally on News 10 ABC) James, an aspiring musician and professional dance skater, rolled out onto the set of American Idol, introduced himself, and then sang Tina Turner's "The Best."
And while he wasn't chosen to advance to the next round, all three judges, as well as Ryan Seacrest seemed to enjoy the short ride he took them on.
"I'm Still Beaming!"
While family members watched, Keegan did his thing and stayed the course while the three Idol judges asked him to skate laps around them while singing.
"Idol did me so good...I’m still beaming! If you missed (the show) no need to worry, I got all you need right here I’m running out of different ways to express my gratitude. So I’ll leave you with a couple questions! Do you think the judges made the right choice?" Keegan James, Facebook
“You’ve got a big, powerful voice, a good voice. I’m just not quite sure it’s all the way ready to roller skate over other people,” Luke Bryan said, while Katy Perry encouraged James to “Keep on rollin’.”
