Schalmont School Student’s Death Under Investigation

We have some sad news from Rotterdam about the death of a student from Schalmont High School.

In a story that I saw on News 10 ABC, Rotterdam Police are investigating why a 14-year-old freshman took his own life on October 19. It’s not known if the boy was bullied since he never complained to anyone at the school.

There was a letter sent to parents of students from the Schalmont Central Schools about offering grief counseling if needed this week and offering some ideas on what to watch for about possible signs of suicide.  There is a link to the letter.
