WalletHub released its latest ranking of the Best Small Cities in America, and Saratoga Springs landed alongside some pretty elite company, earning a spot in the 99th percentile among more than 1,300 small cities nationwide.

WalletHub's list isn't saying Saratoga Springs is the single best small city in America. Instead, WalletHub assigned percentile rankings, with the 99th percentile representing the best-performing group.

And Saratoga Springs made the cut.

How WalletHub Ranked America's Small Cities

For the study, WalletHub compared more than 1,300 U.S. cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 using 45 different indicators designed to measure livability.

The criteria included everything from housing costs and homeownership to school quality, safety, health, restaurants, recreation, and overall quality of life.

Saratoga Springs finished with an overall WalletHub score of 70.08 and joined an elite group of communities receiving that coveted 99th-percentile designation.

Other cities shown in WalletHub's 99th-percentile group include Lexington, Massachusetts; Carmel and Zionsville, Indiana; Castle Rock, Colorado; Brookfield, Wisconsin; Arlington, Massachusetts; and Franklin, Tennessee, among others.

Saratoga's Quality of Life Really Stands Out

Impressively, Saratoga Springs nailed it on quality-of-life performance, ranking 39th among more than 1,300 cities analyzed.

That's probably not shocking to anyone who's spent much time here.

Between the restaurants and nightlife, Saratoga Race Course, SPAC, beautiful parks, lively and energetic downtown, and seemingly endless things to do, Saratoga has many of the perks of a much larger city while maintaining that small-city feel.

Of course, anyone who's tried buying a house or booking a hotel room during Travers weekend knows Saratoga isn't perfect.

But among America's small cities, WalletHub says Saratoga Springs ranks among the best.
