Popular Hibachi Restaurant Adding Bigger 2nd Capital Region Location
One of our favorite ways to eat out is to go to a hibachi restaurant. The experience is always entertaining, fun, and delicious. A popular Capital Region hibachi restaurant is adding another location.
There’s something about the hibachi experience that captivates you. The onion volcano, the smiley flames, the flying zuccini, the laughter, and the fun around the table. Get ready to enjoy it in a new location.
According to the Albany Business Review, Jay Gao, the owner behind the popular Hana Japanese Steakhouse in Guilderland, is bringing that same energy to a second location in Latham.

You’ll find the new Hana at Latham Farms, right next to Dick’s House of Sport. Jay’s been running the original spot on Western Avenue for nearly two decades. Since the pandemic, the place has only gotten busier, with around 120 guests on a weekday and more than double that on weekends.
Jay and a silent partner have been scouting a second location for over a year, looking for the right fit. Latham felt like the perfect choice because it's easy to get to, and there is a need for a hibachi restaurant in the area.
This new location is going to be big, featuring nearly 10,000 square feet with 16 hibachi tables, enough to seat 320 people. That’s a serious upgrade from the original, and Jay plans to bring on 30 to 40 new staff members to the new location.
The new Hana location in Latham Farms is aiming for a November opening. It’ll have a sleek, modern vibe thanks to a design collaboration with a company in China. The menu will be the same as the Western Avenue spot, so your favorite rolls and hibachi combos will still be front and center.
