New York Ski Season Opens Today
The Zac Brown Band sings about Colder Weather and the colder weather this time of year brings snow - and the snow in the air means the start of the ski season is here!
Some of the ski mountains in the Adirondacks of New York State have already gotten underway with making snow. Gore Mountain in North Creek has been making snow since Wednesday and Whiteface in Lake Placid started last week. Both are slated to open just for the day today with the first lift going up at 8:30 a.m.
Both close for some intensive snow making during the upcoming week and will re-open with more terrain this coming Saturday. Full time operations are scheduled to begin on November 28. Operations at Belleayre in the Catskills will also try to begin on November 28 if conditions and weather permits.
If you are a winter/snowsports enthusiast, it's time to get your board and skiis, gloves and goggles ready!
