New Schenectady Amtrak Station Unveiled

The Amtrak station in Schenectady has been an eyesore and not very functional for many years. Since the downtown area has started to thrive again and the Rivers Casino has opened, it is nice to see that a plan is in the works to make it a true train station.

I always felt that the Schenectady train station was an embarrassment and was glad to know that most of the area leaders felt the same. I think Schenectady has come a long way in becoming a downtown destination with much to offer. It will be great to have an Amtrak station that can bring people in not only to the Rivers Casino, but also to all that the Electric City has to offer.

The new Amtrak station is scheduled to be completed by November of 2018.
