Area Residents Can Appear in New Netflix Series

Another opportunity to appear in a Netflix production is coming to the Adirondacks.

Casting directors for Netflix's upcoming series "The Woods" are seeking local residents for a variety of paid background roles during filming in Diamond Point, just north of Lake George.

Unlike previous casting calls that focused largely on Adirondack accents, this one is looking for people to help recreate life in the 1960s and 1970s.

Some scenes will be filmed along the lake and may require participants to work near or in shallow water. Producers are also seeking people who can swim and are comfortable working around boats.

Filming is scheduled between June 23rd and June 30th, with wardrobe fittings required beforehand. Because the series is set decades ago, all participants will be fitted in period clothing before appearing on camera.

Own a Classic Car?

Have a classic car sitting in the garage? You may be in luck. The production is also looking for vintage vehicles from the 1960s and 1970s. Owners whose vehicles are selected for on-camera use will receive additional compensation.

Pay ranges from $187 for non-union performers to $224 for SAG-AFTRA members.

If you've ever wanted to see what it takes to work on a major television production—or spot yourself on Netflix—this could be your chance.
