Imagine purchasing a watch for your young child as a safety precaution, only to find that it's being used by creepers to lure your child into cars and other dangerous situations. It happened, and the mom who bought the watch for her daughter is warning other parents who may have purchased one as well.

According to News 10 ABC, Tiffany Berney from Omaha Nebraska, purchased the pink electronic watch for her daughter Makenna, who is 7.  The watch helps parents like Tiffany track the location of the child and allows them to place a call to their child if they feel the need to reach out.

"I just want to play, don’t tell your daddy. Just step into the car.”

Last week, according to the report, Makenna's Gadget Gizmo watch started playing messages from a strange man and young girl. Two voices were unfamiliar to her, but they were mentioning a close friend (and neighbor) of Makenna's, by name.

According to the News 10 ABC report, Berney said the message said, “I just want to play, don’t tell your daddy. Just step into the car.” Another voice sounded like a girl, Berney’s daughter said. “Step in the car part...it sounded like a girl,”

The manufacturer of the watch said 'it isn't sure how an unauthorized party could contact the device.'
