In the story that I saw on News 10 ABC, 43-year-old Edward MacLeod was in some sort of an argument with with a woman at her home in North Chatham, which he allegedly became physical with her, and broke her phone when she tried to call for help. According to New York State Police, this happened about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. Macleod was charged with Unlawful Possession Of Marijuana, Criminal Mischief In The Fourth Degree and Menacing In The Third Degree. After his arraignment and then released on his own recognizance.

The second arrest happened not long after he was released. Troopers saw MacLeod driving on State Route 203, and had knowledge that he was allegedly drunk during the first situation. They pulled him over he was accused of being intoxicated. MacLeod was arrested again and sent to Columbia County Jail.
