Last month, National Grid said that they had planned a rate hike to take effect next spring to help reinforce the infrastructure of the lines. The increase will be significant and if you are upset about this news, you can voice your opinion. On Tuesday night there were forums held for customers to voice their concerns about the, what could be as much as, an $18 per month increase. The AARP spoke about their worries of the increase on the elderly with fixed incomes. Others spoke in opposition as well. There were also those that understood that National Grid needed to improve the infrastructure to be more efficient and effective in their delivery.

If you weren't able to attend these forums (there will be more throughout the state), you can still be heard. You can send your comments about the electric rate hike here and the gas rate hike here.  There is also a toll free number that you can call to voice your concerns at 1-800-335-2120.
