‘Major’ Storm Could Bring Heavy Snow To New York Early Next Week
At the rate we are going, it is going to keep snowing right into April in Upstate New York.
Think about it: we have now gotten snow a few weekends in a row with an extra little storm thrown in here and there, and when we get back to work next week in Upstate New York we could be seeing what the National Weather Service (NWS) is calling a 'potential major winter storm.'
When Will The Next Winter Storm Hit Upstate New York?
This next weather event is on track to start Monday as snow in higher terrains and rain at lower elevations, and then could bring 'heavy, wet snow' through Wednesday. NWS says additional impacts of this storm due to high winds and that heavy snow could be power outages.
The Weather Channel is tracking this storm as well and says it could turn into a Noreaster that could bring heavy snowfall totals to New York.
How Much Snow Accumulation Can Upstate New York Expect?
Now as we have seen with some of these snowstorms, tracking is tricky because it is March, so the ratio of snow versus rain is still up in the air at this point. But if this one tracks right it could bring a good chunk of snow to the interior of the Northeast and Upstate New York.
