Lou’s List of Things To Do For 4th Of July Weekend
It's hard to believe but this weekend, we celebrate our independence in this great country. Independence Day, or the Fourth of July, is a national holiday and is our day to celebrate the adaption of the Declaration of Independence, in 1776, from the Kingdom of Great Britain. I had some blogs about a few day trips that you can take advantage of.
Most of us will be doing some, if not all of the following:
1) Barbecue
Getting together with your family and friends for some good food and good company.
2) camping
Celebrating in the great outdoors.
3) heading to a lake
Quite a few lakes to go to, not far from home, like Lake George or the Great Sacandaga, just to name a few.
4) Going to a drive-in
Pack up some munchies and drinks and soak up this classic ambiance. But son't forget the bug spray.
5) fireworks
I thought I would save the most popular for last. Jake had a blog about some fireworks displays in our area.
I would like to give an honorable mention - Buying your Countryfest 2011 tickets. After all, this is the last weekend before the big day, on July 9.
It's true, some of these things can be combined, and will be. But whatever you do this weekend, be safe and have a great time. What are your plans for the weekend?
